Peter Friedman is replacing the previously announced Dan Hedaya in the role of Juror #10 in the upcoming Roundabout Theatre Company production of Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men. Hedaya has withdrawn from the production for personal reasons.
Friedman originated the role of Tateh in the musical Ragtime, receiving Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk nominations. He has also appeared on Broadway in The Great God Brown, Don Juan, The Visit, Chemin de Fer, Holiday, Love for Love, The Rules of the Game, Piaf, Execution of Justice, The Heidi Chronicles and The Tenth Man. Friedman, who was a series regular on Brooklyn Bridge, last appeared on the New York stage in 2002's My Old Lady off-Broadway at the Promenade Theatre.
In addition to Friedman, the cast of Twelve Angry Men will feature Tom Aldredge, Mark Blum, Philip Bosco, Larry Bryggman, Robert Clohessy, Boyd Gaines, Kevin Geer, Michael Mastro, John Pankow, James Rebhorn and Adam Trese as the jury and Matte Osian as the guard.
Directed by Scott Ellis, Twelve Angry Men will begin performances at the American Airlines Theatre on October 1 in preparation for an October 28 opening. It is scheduled to run through December 19.
